Tell Her Story Teaching Series

Tell Her Story

Headington Baptist Church has shared a teaching/preaching series looking at the stories and lives of women found in scripture,  taking a wide view through the Old and New Testaments.

The aims of this series are:
  • To profile some of the female characters
  • To explore how they were disciples, disciplers and walked in fellowship with one another.
  • To challenge some misconceptions around these characters
  • To challenge misconceptions around some key themes and scriptures that have been used to oppress or restrict women
  • To reaffirm a commitment to women and men serving across the roles of the church.
  • To challenge some of the current cultural attitudes towards women that have been present in the last few years.
The hope is that this will be a series that all, women and men, can find the way of Jesus as we encourage one another in our discipleship and leadership.

Slow Wisdom

Slow Wisdom

Slow wisdom is one way that Baptists can discern the mind of Christ together at the Church Meeting. There are six marks of slow wisdom: slowness, prayer,

consensus agreement, listening, hearing and prophetic participation. Here is a video based course for small groups and church meetings: www.slowwisdom.com

Doing Church Differently

Doing Church Differently Gener

At a recent Leaders’ Day, we heard from three pioneers across our Association who are Doing Church Differently: sharing inspiring stories of mission, community, and fresh expressions of church. Their sessions reminded us that fruit isn’t only found in Sunday services, but in lives transformed through creativity, faith, and love in action.

We’re delighted to make these sessions available for you to catch up on, along with study guides designed to help churches, home groups, and leadership teams reflect and discuss what this could mean in your own setting.

Explore the stories, watch the talks, and download the resources to spark a fresh vision where you are.

Also on the website page is a series designed to help you and your church reflect on its mission and ministry through the lens of other churches.  As churches share the journey they are on hopefully there will be something that speaks to your context.

Each Video has accompanying study notes to help you reflect biblically on the themes.  These can be used in small groups or for a church meeting.
