SCBA DPS Training 

 

Saturday 19th September 2026, 10am-4pm

Baptist House, Didcot

The SCBA are excited to be able to offer safeguarding training specifically for the Designated Person for Safeguarding (DPS) role in SCBA churches.
 
We want to thank you for taking on this important role for your church, and we have designed this day of training to support you and equip you with confidence to take on the tasks that may be required of you.
 
The training is intended to be interactive and includes an opportunity for practical application using scenarios. The day will also allow time to get to know and build relationships with other DPS’s in your area.

The training will be run by Nicky Gibbard, National Safeguarding Caseworker for Baptists Together.
 
Areas that will be covered:

• Understanding the role of the DPS
• Reporting concerns to statutory agencies
• Safeguarding risk assessments and contracts
• Reporting serious incidents to the Charity Commission
• Practice-based scenarios

The cost is £5 per person.
Tea & Coffee will be provided, but please bring a packed lunch (there are local shops where lunch can be purchased).
