Larger Churches Network 

Larger churches (membership of 120+) carry significant missional opportunity and responsibility. As SCBA, we recognise both the influence you hold and the particular complexities you navigate, from leading sizeable staff and volunteer teams to shaping vision, governance, and culture in dynamic contexts.

Our role is not to duplicate the networks and resources you may already access, but to offer something distinctively Baptist and relational. We seek to walk alongside you in discernment, supporting healthy leadership, wise governance, and Spirit-led decision-making within congregational life. We provide space for peer connection, strategic conversation, and prayerful reflection, particularly around issues that surface uniquely in larger church settings.

SCBA can also help facilitate partnerships, whether in mission collaboration, developing new leaders, revitalisation support, or exploring opportunities for church planting and re-planting. We stand ready to listen, to connect, and to champion what God is doing through you across our Association.

Above all, we are committed to being present, responsive, and attentive to the Spirit as we serve Christ together.

A Gathering for Leaders of Larger Churches: 14th April @ 11am

Together we will reflect on the distinctives of Baptist life, especially the practice of shared discernment in a larger church context, where listening well, leading wisely, and honouring congregational voice can feel both vital and complex. We will also consider where a deeper partnership might emerge: in mission, in mutual support, and in opportunities for church planting or re-planting.

This initial gathering will be a space:

-  to pray together as leaders
-  to share experience and wisdom
-  to hear how the Association can best support you
-  and to listen for what God is stirring among us

Above all, it will be an opportunity to gather as fellow servants of Christ, attentive to the Spirit and open to what may grow from stronger connection.
